Thanks Mike and TA for your suggestions. I ordered the IACV (SIAC280 by standard motor) and the gasket by AirTex Wells. Both are scheduled to arrive today. Cant wait to fix this embarrasing stalling probplem.

Im having frequent stalling problems with my '99 ES 300 especially in the mornings and after the car is parked for awhile. The CEL/Trac OFF code indicates its the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) malfunction. This valve has been cleaned in the past and a local mechanic told me a welded pin in the valve appers to be broken so that replacement rather than cleaning is the best option. Quotes from local mechanics in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Toronto area however, are outrageously high and in the range of $ 700-800 Cdn. I find the part online for about $180-250. The problem is I dont know the exact part to buy since the ones I have seen either have 2 or 3 hoses.

Anyone knows the part number and type of IACV for this year model? The production year on my car is 01/1999

I own a 1999 Model ES300 and all of a sudden it started shaking while driving.

First of all, I thought its because a flat tire but tires are pretty good...

Also the Check Engine and VSC/VSC OFF lights are ON in the dashboard...

Does it sounds like a big technical problem?

Often I used to see the Check Engine and VSC/VSC OFF lights appear and go on their own after a few days.

I own a 1999 Model ES300 too and i have noticed this week that the engine is getting louder with whistling sound during acceleration on the high ways. The CEL and Trac off light was on for a week and then went off just the day before i was to see my mechanic for diagnosis last week. The light has not come on since then. Everything seem to be fine except for the noise i hear when im accelerating. Im taking it today for check up though

lets start from me i had a 94 es300 which was in excellent condition and i had it for a year i got it for $6000 ,110Kmiles and sold it 5500$,121Kmiles i did maintain it well flushed transmission and changed spark plugs.

i bought a 1999 ES300 a month ago it has 110K miles for 7600$ it has had a 90K service at lexus and i flushed the transmission and fluids also cleaned the throthle body. Shes doin fine for now and i love it sooooo much

Just bought 1999 es300 for $6500 Cdn with 212k kms taxes and 2yrs engine and tranny warranty inclusive of price. Car had Autocheck score of 89%. Car record shows it was driven for under 1000km from 2006-2009. It was in immaculate condition with all options lexus ever had on that generation of ES300. B)

Those who knew what I use to drive before('90 mazda protege LX), now nod their heads when I drive by :D
