Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good mechanic in Austin Texas, that knows Lexus (RX300) vehicles, as well as Toyota's. We live in the North Austin area, around Arboretum. Would like someone private, other than the dealer. Needing brake pads changed as well as spark plugs (able to change 4, but back two left are a bear to change - my hands are too big), and a just in case I can't fix it myself mechanic. I appreciate it; and Merry Christmas everyone!

There is a vacuum hose on the back of the air cleaner housing that, if not connected, will give you a sensor error. Good Luck.
This is the one that has a screw that secures it to the air cleaner housing, correct?

Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on this subject. I had the check engine light come on about a year and a half ago when I bought my 2001 RX 300, and my mechanic had ran a fuel cleaner and cleaned the sensor. The check engine light came on about 4 days ago after I had removed the air filter box to clean the tips of the speed sensors as had been mentioned in a previous topic. I'm wondering if the sensor has finally gone bad, or would possibly cleaning it again fix the issue? Also, could I have loosened a hose somewhere when I removed the air filter and put it back on? I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Daryl

No Problem! Anytime!
So I'm wondering what a reputable online parts store would be, to order the air mix servo. I'm having the same problem, and I called Lexus here in San Antonio, TX and they want $200 + tax for the part.
Thanks,
Daryl
2001 Rx300 Alarm Issues
in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Posted
Good morning,
So a couple of days ago, I noticed that when I would get out of the vehicle, and press the button to set the alarm / lock the doors, the vehicle would not "beep". Prior to that the vehicle would beep when you pressed it the first time to lock the doors, and a second time when you would press it again to make the lights go out. The doors would lock though, so I'm assuming the alarm is being set.
Yesterday, I noticed the same thing, but now the lights will not turn off when I pressed the set alarm button the second time. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues and is there an easy solution?
Thanks,
Daryl
