  1. Hello, I have a 98 GS 300. The driver door switch that tells the car the door is open and turns on the lights etc.. Only works sometimes, I am sure it needs to be replaced since when is works is when the car is wet from rain. Any suggestions on where to buy the part?

You might want to try a shot of WD40 if not the dealer can supply the switch.

  2. I noticed just a slight delay when starting my 98 GS300, so I asked tire shop to check my batttery when they mounted my Blizzaks, they said battery was shot, so replaced with AC/Delco. I wasn't driving it much but a week later, the car doesn't start, just clicks. Jumped it, return to Tire Shop, they replaced with new one. It starts fine 4 or 5 times, just to move for snow removal, after ten days or so, then drive around the block, warm it up and shortly later, no start again, just clicks. Jump it fine and it started okay the next day....any ideas. Does this sound like alternator problem....I know nothing about mechanics, I'll take it to different mechanic, but just wanted to know your thoughts, thanks.

What is the mileage on your 98 GS300 ? I'm thinking that the alternator is getting tired,130,000 miles plus and the brushes will be reaching their life. You may have a draw or short that is pulling the battery down. Ether way a mechanic can tell you . They should have checked that out when they replaced the battery . Sounds funny that a new battery only lasted a week .

  3. it is 100amps. Although mine is 200amps :D

    damn. thats it?!

i was hoping it was bigger! =)

anyways, 80 or even 100 is real small.

djspawn00 do you have a link or name/brand to the alternator you have in your gs?

now that i iknow its so small, it looks like i will have to upgrade, but i cant seem to find one that will fit the gs and is high output. all the ones i've found are just low amp replacements for the stocks

    =(

thanks for the replies, finally i get this answered!

This unit looks like a Delco unit modified to 200 amps .

Your OE unit Lester 13791 ND 102211-0730 is a 100 Amp unit Up to 2001 units were 80 amp.
