  1. I bought my first lexus and will need an oil change soon. What is the dealer cost for this service? Can I do this myself? I do it on my F150 but havent really looked underneath the car to see whats going on.

I take my 06 GS300 to the Lexus dealer in Chattanooga. Get oil/filter change for little under $40, and that includes a complimentary car wash.. What a deal, and they make you feel like royalty while you wait. Don't get any better than that.

  2. i SPOKE WITH THEM YESTERDAY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO UNSCREW THE GAS CAP AND DRIVE AROUND FOR ABOUT 3 MILES AND IT SHOULD TURN ITSELF OFF....NO LUCK...I'M TAKING IT IN fRIDAY TO FIND OUT WHAT'S UP WITH IT....ANY ONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM????

Exact same thing happen to my 06GS300.. Dealer replaced gas cap under warranty and problem went away. According to the dealer, this is very common.

  3. Hi Everyone,

I have an 08 GS350 and this is more bothersome than it is an issue but does anyone know why when I set my vent to "auto" (the fresh air vs. recirculate) it stays on auto for a few days (switching back and forth to recirculate and fresh air by itself) and then it switches to manual fresh air by itself? I don't make any changes to the system and the overall system setting is set to "auto". The manual does not address this specific issue. I know if I call the dealer they will say "that's the way it's supposed to work". But what bothers me is that it seems to reset randomly. Sometimes it resets over days and sometimes it resets after a few hours.

    Thanks.

I have an 06 GS300 and have wondered the same thing. Mine is continually going back and forth between recirculate and fresh air almost every 3-4 minutes. I do not understand how this system works. Wish I did. Any information would certainly be appreciated

  4. Here's the deal...i thought i was being clowned when they told me to unscrew the gas cap and then put it back on....it's what i did, drove to work and when i left for the day the FREAKIN LIGHT WAS OFF!!! THouught i'd let you guys know if you ever run into this problem!

Same thing happened to my 06 GS300. Called dealer and he said take off gas cap and put back on. Did this and drove for 4 days. Light stayed on. Took to dealer and in 15 minutes they said I had bad gas cap. Unfortunately, they did not have one in stock..They cleared the light, and ordered me a new gas cap. Should be picking it up at the dealer in a couple of days. In meantime, the light has not gone back on.

  5. Time to find new tires for my 06 GS 300 AWD. Have some cheap rotationals on currently and they are way too loud. I'm tring to decide between Michelin Primacy MXV4 or Bridgeston Toranza Serenitys. Rims are 17". My acura has bridgestones and i've been realitvly pleased. Any suggestions? My local dealership recommend the Michelin Pilot series but all online reviews tell me they are not the tire of choice. Priority is quite ride then performance then tread life then cost. Help would be appreciated.

I have an 06 AWD with Dunlap run flats. Smooth and quiet, but really hard, and you feel every little bump. Have been researching tires, and have pretty much decided to go with the Bridgestone Serenity. All tests and reviews that I have read are very positive. Seems to be a very quiet smooth tire, with excellent dry and wet traction. Set complete with warranty and lifetime balance a rotate gonna run me right at $900. Hope thats a good deal !!

  6. Hey Just bought my gs 300 last month, fully loaded with ML, Nav, backup camera and 21k miles for $25900 in NY. So excited with the deal but need to get an extended warranty cause my runs out in july of next year.

I bought mine fully loaded with 29K miles on it for $28,500 and thought that was good deal but you beat me!

Enjoy your new vehicle and welcome to the club.

Recently bought a GS300 AWD 31K..Came off lease, one owner. Paid 28,900.. Loaded. Navigation, Mark Levinson sound, back up camera, the works. Paid $1700 for extended warranty 5yr/60,000 miles. Love the car.. Only thing I don't care for are the Dunlap run flat tires. Smooth, but kinda hard. Thinking of replacing soon with Bridgestone Serentities.

  7. Hi Guys,

I have a lease on a 2007 GS350 AWD and the 50K miles warranty will be up soon. So far the car has been really good, does anyone have any experiences with their 305 AWD beyond 50K miles? I am trying to decide if I should extend the warranty... I will have the car for another year at least.

    Thanks,

Any idea of the cost. I just purchased a 2006 GS300 AWD with 31k. Bought extended warranty 5yr/60,000 miles for $1780. Has 75 copay if taken to Lexus dealer. Covers everything except wear items.
