anara Posted April 13, 2004 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I lost power one day trying to accelerate onto the freeway and my engine sounded like it was running on only a few cylinders, like a car without a muffler. After a couple of runarounds, found out it was the catalytic converters. Ordered some after market cats and installed all 3 new ones. Found a few chunks of hard rocks? in the main one. Turned it over and whalla! It still sounds the same before we changed the cats. Any suggestions as to what to look for now? It is an SC400, 1994 Lexus, 160,000 miles.
