IMO Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 I'm looking to upgrade my rims and tires for my LX 470. But before I make a decision I need some expert assistance. My dilemma relates to Magnesium Chloride, a chemical that is added in winter conditions in my home town of Denver, CO. MagChloride has pitted two sets of Lexus chrome 16" rims. The dealer says it really only affects chrome, but the aftermarket guys tell me chrome is the best in dealing with this chemical?! The dealer will support a replacement to something other than chrome, such as anodized or painted rims. Two questions: 1) Who's right, the dealer or aftermarket retailer on the chrome issue? 2) If not chrome, paint? Who offers something in a 20/22 that is not chrome or painted silver?
