Lexusyama Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I have a 98 gs 300 and about a year ago we started the car, then after sitting for a couple weeks the battery went dead, when we jumped it the horn started 2 sound, so I unplugged it, got the car started and drove it, it was parked for a couple more days and the battery died again, so we tried jumping it again only this time another horn that I can't find immediately started 2 sound continuously, no beeping, just constant blowing, I'm not getting any kind offer dash lights, or any electronic response from anything including the trunk, door switches, done lights ect. I tried using the main key with the buttons 2 lock and unlock both the drivers and passengers door 2 no avail. The battery in my remote key is dead but from what I've read on other forums that shouldn't matter with manual unlock, i turn the key in the ignition but it has no response at all, no cranking, no clicking, just completely dead, after disconnecting the battery cables the horn continues 2 blow 4 a few more seconds until it loses its power so it seems 2 be taking a charge when jumped, I'm losing my mind, what do I do?
Lexusyama Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 I replaced a blown 120 amp fuse, plus 3 blown 15 amp fuses under the hood, then 1 5amp fuse under the dash, this solved all problems, on another note; 2 remove the white plastic fuse housing from the black plastic case, start at the left side (the side away from the engine) u need alot of force, i had 2 pry it up with a screw driver while holding the clips open, it was very difficult, but doable, i basically had 2 stop worrying about breaking it, nd just pull it out, mine was also taped in at the base where the wires come in, it took alot of struggling b4 I noticed it, make sure everything is disconnected b4 u start (battery+power wire bolted into right side of the fuse harness) hope this helps someone, cause this forum did nothing 4 me
