Hi. I'm new to the forum with an 013 ES300h, but posting here because it is a general question. I have use similar sites for my bmw bike and found the users very friendly and helpful

i need snow tires for this car I just purchased. Sold my Acura TL and kept the winter alloy rims and snow tires from it as they are only 3 years old and in good shape. The bolt pattern is the same as the ES300h, and I mounted one tire and went around the block - no rubbing or noise indicating interference even at lock to lock on the steering (even though wheel ID is 1/2" smaller than OEM and the tire 3/8" wider).

BUT the whole wheel + tire assembly is 1" smaller diameter than the factory Lexus wheels and tires. I think this is ok to run - recognizing that the speedo will read 5% faster than actual as each wheel revolution will cover a bit less distance.

Is there any other reason not to use these wheels and tires for winter driving? The specs are:

Lexus Tire 215 55 R17, wheel + tire 26 3/16" dia, 8 5/8" tire width, 15 3/4 " wheel ID

Acura Tire 205 60 r16, wheel + tire 25 1/8" dia, 9" tire width, 15 1/8 " wheel ID

Any guidance from the owners here would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Stephen
