Can someone please direct me toward the "correct" amount of air conditioning oil that should be in my AC system? I have researched, but I have either found conflicting information or I don't understand how to read the information provided.

I am the original owner of my 92 SC-400; the freon system is still R-12; I know the AC oil is specified as "ND Oil 6"; and my compressor tag shows "Denso 10 PA20C. Here's my specific questions.........

1) How much AC oil is supposed to be in the entire AC system?

2) Of the above total amount of oil, how much is supposed to be in the compressor itself?

I recently removed my AC compressor and tipped it upside down with the suction/discharge lines removed and absolutely no oil drained out. I would like to refill the compressor with fresh oil without disturbing the rest of the AC system.

3) If I get too much oil into the AC system, what problem would that cause?

I appreciate any and all help!!
