thomasmcclr Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 How do you remove the tail light assembly on the rear hatch? I removed the 2 nuts on the side. I then removed the small square of carpet on the interior of the hatch to get to the electrical connectors and removed one other nut. There is one remaining but it is too hard to get to. It looks like I might have to remove the entire hatch interior wall (carpeted material).
thomasmcclr Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Actually. I figured it out. First make sure you first pop off the plastic area that has the button that automatically closes the hatch (the black button that has the picture of the hatch closing). To get the last nut that needs to be unscrewed you need to pop off the carpet area on the inside of the hatch. It feels like it will not come off at first but pull it pretty hard and it pops off in 2 places where it's connected to the hatch body. Then you can reach the last nut that needs to be unscrewed.
vazquecj Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Hi, Would anyone have access to a DIY with photos for the procedure of removing the panel/lining of the hatch to access the rear light fixtures? -Charlie
