Need Stereo Remote Control Steering Wheel For 2003 Es300

I have a 2003 ES300 and would like to get steering wheel stereo remote controls. One option may be to install a new steering wheel with remotes, but I do not think this option became available until 2007 on the ES series. Would a 2007 ES350 steering wheel even work on a 2003 ES300? Are there any other options for installing steering wheel remotes? I know Pioneer sells an infrared remote for their head units, but I am looking for something that will work with a Kenwood.
