nimrod Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 ok please bear with me all i realy know is i love my 92 sc400!!! its not a stoplight sprinter but it is borderline erotic on the highway. i guess i am coming from the nemisiss 4 cilinder turbo class. my last faveret was a saab 900 turbo!!! sorry guys but she will allways hold a place in my hart! but now i have the best in reliability with a 8cilinder platform. my biggest obstical is money.i am disabled and raise 4 kids off a small pension. my question is what "all" is involved in turbocharging this car?and can you set up two small turbos one off each side? my car has 300+km will this motor take the upgrade with out a rebuild? i welcome all positive comments or critsisom thank you for your time
sw20 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 If your sc400 has over 300k miles I would strongly suggest a rebuild before considering forced induction. I realize that you are on a tight budget, but to maintain any acceptable reliability you need to build it right. What kind of numbers would you like to be putting down? Are you concerned about economy at all? What kind of time window are you allowing for this project?
tuanville Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I think you should just swap out the motor for the JDM sc400 soarer engine, it'll be cheaper than a rebuilt, and plus the Japanese engine comes TURBO! Most engine you buy would come with little mileage and a warranty. I don't know if they come twin turbo or not... but i know they come turbo.
