Is300 Stereo Upgrade

I have a 2004. My cd player is making an awful sound. They will replace my unit. I am seeing so many bad units from the IS 300, I am wondering if I should get an upgraded one from Lexus(anyone know the cost) or a new CD player, and if needed speakers etc thanks
