98 Motor Into 00?

New to forum but not new to the world of Lexus and Toyota.

Here is the deal.

Just yesterday, while I was backing out of my driveway,

I decided I didn't have enough headaches so I backed right into the side of my moms 98 ES300.

So I went to search on craigslist for someone that might be parting out a 1998 ES300.

Well I came across a guy that parting out an 00 ES300.

I know the body style was the same from 1998-2001 except for a few different lighting fixtures and rims.

but apparently from research the 99-01 ES300s came with a different motor.

So my question is, can I swap my moms motor into the 00?

as long as i changed the ecu over I think it is possible but I need a definite yes on this.
