perfectmax
I currently have a 1995 Acura Legend GS and with 147k miles. I've always feared having a head gasket blowing on me (common problem) or the tranny starting to slip so I've decided to sell. I've owned a few Toyota’s in my day and have been very pleased with the reliability. Other than oil changes, I've pretty much had nothing to worry about. I am looking at buying a 2001 Lexus es300 with 80k to 100k miles. What are common problems with this vehicle? What do I need to look out for when researching which es300 to buy? Also, what maintenance items will I be hit with as I go 100k+ miles? Thank you for your input!

Are there any specific issues that commonly pop up on the 2001's?
kashi125
If possible, make sure you get one from a private owner with all the records. Basically, you want to get one with proof of oil changes (to avoid the oil gelling issue). Other than that, it is an extremely reliable car. You won't regret it.
