Fuel And Trunk Release Buttons Will Not Work

I have a 1994 ES300. The fuel door opener button and the truck lid opener button that are located in the drivers door will not work. They are both pressed down. I can take a knife and pull them both up but they just fall back down. Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong? How can I fix? Thanks.

You've got to take the door panel off and unbolt the switch(es)... once you get the switch cluster out, then you can start looking to see what the problem is.
