Art S.
My check engine light was on and my mechanic replaced the fuel pressure regulator. Passed smog but now the car is not shifting right. It is reving high before shifting from 1st to 2nd, and is hesitating when I get on the freeway. My mechanic says it has nothing to do with the regulator, just coincidence. Any thoughts? Art S.
Update: I had the mechanic replace the regulator (this time with an Lexus replacement) and things are 80% better. The car will still shift harder than it used to, rev to higher rpm before shifting, but it is MUCH better. Might there be something else that needs to be replaced with the fuel pressure regulator? Any ideas?
