Affine
Hi, I have a 1992 Lexus ES300 with the 5 speed manual transmission. My power steering pump (or one of the hoses) is leaking. A lot. I have a Haynes manual but the description on how to the replace the power steering pump doesn't appear to have been written by someone who actually worked on this car. I also have a CD version of the Lexus shop manual, but it's light on details for this procedure. Can anyone help with a description of how to remove the power steering pump? The problem is that access to the pump is limited. The shop manual says to remove the right tie rod. Fine, I can do that. It then says to remove the hoses. How exactly am I supposed to get a wrench in (and turn it) in that tiny gap between the pump and the firewall? Also, how am I supposed to remove the high pressure line from the idle switch? Again, clearance seems to be a big issue. Thanks, PeterM
