I have a 1993 GS 300 that i just replaced the power steering on, I had all the signs , Growling, white smoke out the tail pipes.

I replaced and it smoked a little, i thought it was all good but 2 days later what did i hear that damn growl. I ordered the VCV for the unit because i am most certain the valve is bad.

Now the really dumb part!!!

I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE BEFORE REMOVING THE VACUUM LINES AND CAN NOT REMEMBER WHICH GOES TO THE FRONT SIDE OF THE MOTOR AND WHICH CONNECTS TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. CAN ANYONE HELP ADVISE ME ON WHICH GOES WHERE BEFORE I REPLACE THE VALVE TODAY AFTER WORK?

I cant stand that growl.

Also i broke the Crank pulley and replaced it with an Unorthidox pulley. I am almost sure this is effecting the power steering as well. has any one done this and seen the same problem.

So i got the Vacuum control Valve yesterday, Installed it in 15 Minutes. It actually took longer to get the battery in and out then the valve.

When i installed the valve it was a 1/2 turn less then the existing piece which changed the lay-out of which way i think the vaccum lines hooked up.This is a quick explination if any one has this same question in the future there is a small plug on one side of the valve that i used as my indicator and tried both directions for short bursts with the car. It seems to me after driving to work this morning that you need to run the line out if the Intake to the side with the small plug(located on the side of the Valve body itself). Then the other Vacuum line attaches to the front corner tube coming out of the head.
