Cd Changer

I recently bought an SC400 1997 with very low mileage. The CD player only plays 5 tracks before the error message comes up and that is if it manages to 'recognize' a CD at all. I've tried a cleaner which helped some but not completly. With such low mileage on the car (48,000) the player obviously hasn't been used much so I'm surprised at the problem. It's a trunk mounted 12 disc changer. Any suggestions for repair or information on what the problem might be?
