Navigation While Using Handsfree Phone

Any idea how to continue using the navigation system while using the hands free bluetooth phone system. Seems that my navigation directional information to destination becomes inoperable while I am on the phone. Is is too much to expect to be able to have both systems operational simultaneously? Thanks for any insight to this issue.

while talking on the handsfree, hit the MAP (voice) button and you will hear a delay in your conversation and hear the navi talking/guiding and again you continue talking :)
