We made the choice based on serveral factors, including quality and value. Now the transmission, after only 10k, works like it should be in a Yugo. Oh, I'm sorry, I don't want to tarnish Yugo's good name by putting their transmissions on the same level with the one in our ES 300. Where is the quality and value in that? It slips when getting onto the Freeway around 40 MPH and makes the engine red line when doing so. How much damage is that doing to the engine? What if my wife gets in a accident due to the poor perfomance of the transmission? I know there is a transmission upgrade that can be done but will it solve the problem? After paying a small fortune for this car Lexus better fix it. We are not upgrading until we get more info so please keep the posts flowing. In the mean time I have to worry about my wife driving (slip sliding) this ES 300 with the malfunctioning transmission around and try not to kick myself for not looking at the G35's more closely. J.
