olbob
I have just purchased a 1999 Lexus ES 300 from the South, I live in Maine, it is rust free and I would like to keep it that way. Has anyone experienced any rust problems, if so, where? That way I can try to protect that area and watch for rust. Can anyone help?? thanks, Bob
chadmg7
Well, of course, rock chips are a good way to expose the metal to rust damage and those tend to occur on the nose of the car. My car is from Florida and has only seen 3 or 4 Minnesota winters, but I noticed that I am getting a couple small spots of rust at the bottom front of the hood (where the metal creates a 90-degree angle near the grill). Also, I have some tiny rock chips on the hood and a couple of the roof of the car. I need to get those fixed before winter arrives!
