JDH Bay Area
Last summer SC430 HVAC started to omit an intense odor. As it turns out, the Lexus factory filled the washer fluid with a solution which actually allowed mold to grow in the tank resulting is extremely smelly washer fluid. The stench of the washer water contaminated the HVAC ventilation intakes at the base of the windshield resulting in a very strong unpleasant smell. The Lexus dealer flushed the washer fluid tank and refilled it with clean/pure all season washer fluid but it took more than 1 year for the bad smell to dissipate. Be forewarned and flush the system before it creates a very smelling problem (especially if you live in a warm climate).
