Harky
I've read threads in this forum and others about this problem in the past. My 96, when warmed up, idles at about 400rpm. (A/C off) That's a little below the 650 that it's supposed to idle and this low idle shakes the car a bit. The threads I've read indicated that it was an ECU programming problem and that some owners, but not all, have remedied this problem with an ECU swap. (expensive!) It's not enough of an issue with me to start messing with the ECU. However, I also read somewhere about someone cleaning their idle air solenoid valve to correct an idle issue. What I know about the idle air valve is that it controls the warm-up idle of the car with a 3 or 4 stage solenoid valve. My car cold starts fine and idles at about 1200rpm. During warm-up, the speed reduces in steps down to 400 in about 10 minutes of driving. Pretty predicable. I don't know if this is typical for others, but I thought that maybe the valve has gunked up a bit in 10+ years of driving. Has anyone considered this or know if clean-up may help??
