dastormy1 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Does anyone have some basic instructions for removing the head unit on the 2007 GS450h? I'm handy, but the last thing I want to do is break/scratch something up. Thanks
GS350_TX Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Does anyone have some basic instructions for removing the head unit on the 2007 GS450h? I'm handy, but the last thing I want to do is break/scratch something up. Thanks I just remove the head unit on a GS350. It was easy. 1. Remove the insert below the tape player with a small taped screw driver. It pops out very easily. 2. Remove the gear shift knob. 3. Remove the wood grain cover for the gear shift. Pry under the to sides that extend back to the center console between the seats. Once these come up, pull it back and out. 4. Remove the two side panels. There is one screw for each just under the radio. Once this is removed, pry the back side off first and then slide it back and out. 5. Now there are two 10MM bolts that were under the side panels. Remove these two bolts. 6. Now pull on the two tabs under the radio. The radio/Nav unit will slide out. This is the hardest part. I needed to put my fingers in from the side to help push is out. You are done. This can be done in about 15 minutes or less. Good luck
