92 Sc400 Wheel Offset

Hi all! :D This is my first post and I just bought a 92 sc400 yesterday. I have question about the wheel offset and other things.

1. I know the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and the offset is 60.1mm, DOES THE OFFSET REALLY MAKE THAT BIG OF A DIFFERENCE IF U HAVE THE RITE BOLT PATTERN??????

2. Im gonna buy sum 18s what wheel and tire size would do me the best for the average driver? Im looking for low profile tires.
