Patty Posted August 17, 2006 Share Posted August 17, 2006 THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY ES250 HAS STOPPED WORKING. I'VE HAD THE CABLE AND TRANS GEAR BOX REPLACED TO NO AVAIL. A MECHANIC SUGGESTED ACCESSING THE SPEEDOMETER IN THE DASH AND ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN UP THE MECHANISM AS A LAST RESORT TO PURCHASING A NEW SPEEDOMETER ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER HAS ESTIMATED A COST OF $415.00 FOR PARTS + $300.00 FOR LABOR TO REPLACE. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS / SUGGESTIONS?? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
waio Posted August 30, 2006 Share Posted August 30, 2006 wow...the total repair cost is almost 1/3 of your ES250 value, you know you will not let the dealer fix the speedometer for you. I don't know how is fix it personally, you may try to buy an used cluster from people who parts out their es250 and put it on your car.
