1991 Ls 400 Headrest Removal

I have a 1991 LS 400 with power headrests and can't find a way to remove them. I found another post on this site suggesting to raise the headrests and then slide a 2x4 under them and whack them out but it did not work. They were solid and the hammer did nothing. I also read a post about a lock release button somewhere?? Do not want to damage them but want to put in low back sheepskin seat covers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
