lexus082
Will the 99 SC400 Taillights work on the Early SC's and iff so how do you get them to work..? Thanks for any help in advance.. Those taillights will work with the earlier years. I put the 97+ on my 94 sc400. They bolt right in, but its a very snug fit. One thing to add, if you don't replace the pre 97 taillight failure sensor to the newer 97+ tail light failure sensor the lamp failure indicator on your cluster will stay on. Or you could just take out the bulb. A new tail light failure sensor for 97+ models is over $200.

Where is the failure sensor located and what does it look like..? also, I noticed that the backup light is in a different place..will that make a difference..? Thanks for your help.? lexus082
The lamp failure sensor is located in the trunk. You have to remove the left side trunk trim panel. You'll see a small black box (approx 2"x3") mounted right next to the antenna assembly. When you buy the new taillights they should come with the wiring for each taillight assembly, so it should be plug n play into the existing wiring. ToastedSorbet
If you are interested in converting your pre-97 SC's taillights then shoot me a PM. I have experience in doing this and the methods differ for each gen.
