jimmyz11998 Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 Hello! I am considering purchasing a 2002 IS 300. The dealer(not lexus) only has one master transmitter key. My concern is the originally owner may have the other key, see the car (since the car has some specific work done to it) and then get it in ..I have been reading some posts here on this site under the RX300 section about keys (http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=1916&) and I found one that said you can make all transmitters "prohibited" and reprogram them to open the doors....good if you lose a key or stolen..the question i have is if you "prohibit" the lock/unlock feature of the previous transmitters does it also void the engine code on the key so the old key cant start the engine?? If i void the old transmitter can the old key just open the door(the old way, using the key,no push button) get in and start the car?? Please help as this might change the deal that I am working on with the dealer....any help will be appreciative thanks...Jim btw..this site rocks ... :D
