RichieRich
The 93 LS400 just clicked the 100,000 mark the day before yesterday. The car is new to us and maintence records are a bit spotty. What should be checked/replaced to assure that the car will have a long and healthy life with us??? Thanks Rich and Lori
90LS400Lexus
Timing belt is the first thing that comes to mind. Be sure it has been replaced.
MadMax96
Wow - only 100k miles on your 93? That's pretty low mileage for that year of car.. I take you don't have the owners manuals or maintenance guides? Those should list all the things that need to be checked with the appropriate mileage intervals. Your best bet would be eBay for something like that.
branshew
As 90LS400Lexus mentioned, the timing belt would be a good place to start. While you're in there, throw in a water pump, tensioner, pulley bearings, etc. No sense in 1/2 a$$ing it. If you haven't had a full tune-up recently that would be a good idea as well. I'm talking about plugs, wires, all fluids & filters, lube everything, check all drive belts, seals, you name it. If you get all that done at the same time you're looking at @ $1600 from an indie, but if you give the car a good dose of preventative maintenance and inspection now - it'll keep you going for the next 100K miles.
