What Is The Best Ipod Adaptor For A 2002 Es300?

I have a 2002 ES300 with Mark Levinson sound and a navigation system. I would like to hook up an iPod in the car but need advice on an adaptor that integrates well with the interior layout of the vehicle. The standard offered Apple/Griffen dock that plugs into the lighter socket seems like it would obstruct the dashboard display. Has anyone found this to be true? Anybody who has a good setup or insight into possible options please advise.
