barb3law
I just became the default owner of a 1995 SC 300 - I spent $2,000 to pay back registration and to get it out of impound. Now, I'd like opinions as to whether it's worth putting $$ to fix it, or if I should try to get rid of it. It needs service, plus new shocks, new battery, the brake linings are 60% worn in front and 50% worn in back, new struts and definitely 4 new tires. The fuel tank door is missing, and the automatic windows aren't working---probably at least $1,500 needed - it did pass the California smog test. Keep it? RockfordFile
What shape is the body and interior in? It doesn't sound too bad, if it's just the items you mentioned. I'm a Lexus lay-person myself, but the tires, brakes and shocks are all common wear items that go bad on any car, so to me it sounds worth it. $3500-4000 sounds like a great price if the car in general is in good/above average shape. That's my position. :)
