kaygee68 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I just bought a used 2004 es330 with 37K miles. I've noticed a very audible pinging noise as the car cools down after driving. I know many cars make that noise -- like a very taught wire being picked -- but it seems especially loud and long. Any ideas what is causing this or if I should be concerned.

Most cars do this, it is the exhaust system (namely the heat sheild and the cat) contracting as the metal cools down. not a problem. :D
