2002 Gs 300 Audio Plans

Hello fellow forum members.

I'm a newbie on these boards and just picked up my first (used) 2002 Lexus GS 300 with 50k and I'm digging it. I loved my 1997 Acura TL, but I didn't realize how much fun driving was until I got this car.

The first thing I need to do to it is install my Pioneer audio system from my Acura. At first I didn't want to change the stock radio because I appreciated the simple look…but I need my XM. I figured that if I was going to have a little external unit, I might as well just replace the stock audio.

I'd appreciate any tips or sanity checking of my proposed upgrade (and where I found it online). I have lots of questions.

Phase 1

Goal: Get my XM

Pioneer Premier DEH-940MPP Head Unit Install

○ $30 Dash Kit - Would really like this to match the graphite look…anyone have this care to comment?

○ $30 Wiring Harness - I'm planning to use the stock amp for now…will this sound OK if I enable the high pass for the speakers? Do I lose my stock sub?

Issues:

○ MAJOR - My car didn't come with an owners manual, and I don't have the stock radio security code…how do I bypass this?

Phase 2

Goal: Make it sound decent at med-loud volumes. Integrate phone system and new GPS)

Sound System - Very unsure how to go here...

○ Do I use my existing 12" Infinity Sub/Enclosure or replace the stock amp with a Infinity Free Air 10"?

○ Should I replace the speakers or amp (or both)? What's the best value in your opinion (money's tight)?

○ $30 Pro Fit Mount - I liked this one better because it sat higher up on the dash where it's less likely to get kicked by my taller friends knees.

○ $100 - Charging Cradle with Audio In/Out, Hard Wire Kit - Anyone ever install this on a pro-fit mount?

I plan to use the external output to play my all I can download songs from "Napster to Go" with the Audiovox smartphone. Not sure if the external microphone will work well without echoing if I have the callers voice coming through the speakers…probably just use Bluetooth headset.

○ $60 PIONEER CDRB20 AUX INPUT ADAPTER (CHANGER PASS THROUGH) - Can I have this P-Bus hooked up to my cell phones audio out (via aux), the stock changer, AND XM radio at the same time (not playing simul of course)?

I really just need to know the Pioneer Changer to Aftermarket Pioneer deck info...if anyone has any information.

I might have gotten little heavy in the typing out above...just excited :)
