Mr. G
During this winter, whenever i start the vehicle, I heard a rattle and it was pretty loud(clanking noise) while the truck was idling, once the idle lowers to about 1000, the rattle goes away. It's now warmer and when I give it a cold start I hear the rattle but the noise isn't as loud anymore and it only lasts for a couple of seconds(warmer weather resulted in lower cold start idle rpm). I first thought it was the loose shield under the oil filter but it was secured at the dealer yesterday and it wasn't the problem. When I started it today, my son heard the fine metal noise and said it sounded like it came from the area where the tranny and the exhaust system starts to run under the truck. Anyone ever encountered this problem with their LX? Mine is a 99 with 35,050 miles. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. :)
