2018 Rx350l rear hatch noise

There is a loud rattling sound coming from the back hatch. At first I thought it might be the struts , but it seems to be bottom center of the hatch door. And sometimes it will not open or close.

On my 2017 the struts were making a strained noise when opening. I cleaned the struts and no problem since. Did you check the switch in the glove box to make sure it is set to open?If the switch is set to off the hatch won't open.

This is appeared to be very related to my problem when my rear gate door closes right before closing it gives a grinding sound it’s working fine and doing it only one time on the second opinion and closing it doesn’t have the grinding sound only if I do it in the little bit of time like 15 minutes or so and only for a first time time
