Leather restoration

When I purchased my 2003 SC earlier this year, the seats looked amazing, and I learned they had recently been "painted".  As they are beginning to show some wear, what I think i'd like to do is have them professionally restored/redyed, if that's possible.  I have the lightest 'ecru' interior, so they leather shows wear very quickly.  Anyone have any advice or experience with this?

I have no experience with the method you're describing. But when I purchased my 2003 the passenger seat cushion had what appeared to be a puncture mark from a pen in someone's pocket.

I found a used seat cushion and had an upholstery shop switch the leather cover from one cushion to the other.  It all looks like new again.

I would suggest talking to an Upholstery shop near you.
