I'm pretty sure if i disconnect my battery, i'll need the code. The nearest lexus dealership is 2 hours away from me. m2pc Posted September 6, 2004 Share Posted September 6, 2004 I had the same dilemma when I changed out my battery, wasn't sure if I was going to get locked out. In the 98 and probably beyond, they did not program in the security code. This is not to say it hasn't been, but when I changed out my battery, I was fine. I have a new stereo and haven't installed it yet, i just wanted to make sure if i sell my car later that i can put the factory one back in without problems. Thanks again!
