monarch
When the transmission fluid is fully warmed up (takes about 10-15 miles of city type driving) the fluid level should be within - not above - the HOT range on the transmission fluid dipstick. Before checking the fluid level, shift slowly though all the gears ending in park. Remove and insert the transmission fluid dipstick about 4 times to help reduce the problem of of fluid clinging to the sides of the filler tube. Next time you change the fluid it helps to measure the amount drained in a plastic juice pitcher and then pour back the same amount of new fluid. Takes the guesswork out of figuring out how much new fluid to add.
