  1. Hi Vankee - Sorry for the very late reply. Edward's suggestion above worked for me. I suspected that the issue might have been related to an aftermarket filter so I got an new OEM filter, followed Edward's instructions and it worked. Because I did both, I'm not certain if it was the filter or if the previous installation was at fault. Thanks to Edward!!
  2. This is a long-shot question: in 2008 (and perhaps subsequent model years) Lexus sold a base IS250 RWD stripped model that I believe was exclusive to Canada (cloth seats, no sunroof or heated seats, 16 inch wheels, manual seat adjustment, no interior wood trim). Fabulous bargain vehicle, but a dime-sized drop of something appearing to contain solvent fell on the center console cover, was smeared a bit and has left a permanent stain (see left side of attached photo - my wife says I did it, but she drives the car!). Fortunately the stain is on the surface and appears to not have penetrated the plastic. Anyways, in the photo you will see that the console has a gun-metal type matt finish as opposed to the maple wood finish of 99% of IS250s. Before I take it to an interior detailing shop to have the panel, ashtray cover and drink holder cover removed and re-painted, does anyone know if there is a specific touch-up paint in the right color? Should I use a different approach? We bought the car new, the interior is otherwise immaculate and has very low mileage so we expect to keep it for a while. Thanks!!
  3. Hi have a strange problem that just cropped up on my 2008 IS250 with about 60,000 km. When the heater/AC blower is running on the flow-through setting only (not on recirculate) it makes a loud sound like a baseball card stuck in bicycle spokes. It stops after a few minutes but it is loud enough that I am running only on recirculate. Before I take this to the dealer, any suggestions? Please and thank you!!
