  1. I have a 2005 GX470 with ~165,000 miles and My height conntrol suspension air compressor just stopped working. I is the Original compressor. I was replacing my airbags springs because they were leaky and everything was going well but when i tried inflating the new bags, one of my air lines poped out (on the bag side). The car dropped pretty quickly and i shut it off. since then I havent been able to get the compressor to even turn on. Its getting power still. I have the car up on jacks still, and when i try and adjust ride hight, the indicators on the dash light up and change positions, but no compressor action. Did I kill the compressor?
  2. My elderly mother bought a brand new Lexus 350 about 10 years ago. It has only 41k miles on it. The airbag sensor is broken and Lexus no longer makes the part. They told us (in writing) that the vehicle is not safe to drive. They searched for a part and came up dry. They said I could get it fixed by a 3rd party but when I tried, nobody will touch it because of liability. Lexus is not willing to fix it with a used part. I would expect Lexus to make this right - provide another vehicle or some sort of compensation, but I was told because the car is no longer under warranty they will not. Really? isn't this Lexus we're talking about? I would expect them to stand behind their name. Perhaps their reputation is not reflective of who they truly are as a company. Has anybody else experienced something like this?

  5. Okay so i own a 192xxx mile gs300 its an 03. This past 2 weeks its been missfiring, i think its an o2 sensor. Thats not my real issue. I have a battery light that flashes on i just replaced it too. Then i have an airbag light that comes on an goes away, at the same time my gauge cluster flashes on and stays off for a random amount of time. If i turn on the ac the battery light goes away and the air bag light goes away. Also if i try to use CC it wont work unless i turn on the ac. Also my check engine light is on. Please help i was considering taking it to a lexus dealer to get dianosed. I dont really want too becauase im an automotive student this would be a good learning experience, but it seems a bit out of my league. My guesses are theres a short in the ecu.
  6. Yesterday my NX T warning light came on that there was a problem with my SRS airbag and to contact my dealer. My dealer's service department opened a claim with Lexus. I was told that the computer might have to be replaced or the airbag. Waiting to hear. Has anyone else had this problem?
  7. 2003 Lexus ES - the portion of the dashboard that covers the passenger airbag is separating at the top (see photo attached). We live in SF Bay Area and get temps in the 80-90's (a few days of low 100's) during the summer but not sure if the heat is enough to cause this kind of separation. I talked to the local Lexus dealer and asked them if there was any danger in the airbag either not deploying correctly or deploying pre-maturely due to the dashboard separation. They said I need to call Toyota National and open up an issue with them directly (i.e. they don't want to say anything related to safety that might make the dealership liable) They said my VIN# is not on the airbag recall notification list. So has anyone else had this happen to their dashboard / airbag and if so what did you end up doing to fix it? The dealership said all they could do is replace the dashboard but the airbag was a separate component and they have no way to know if the airbag is impacted by the dashboard seam separating. Thoughts or opinions welcome. thank you Steve
  8. I started this thread because I searched the Forum and found nothing on this matter. I am the original owner of a 2007 LS460 with under 36K miles. Recently, my SRS (Airbag) warning light came on, but after I restarted the car it went off. However, shortly thereafter it came back on again, but it went off after I restarted the car. The last time it came on it stayed on. So I brought it in to the dealer 2 weeks ago to diagnose it. They provided me with a service loaner ES350 and I'm still waiting for their decision as to what, if anything, they will do. I discovered that on January 13, 2010, Lexus issued Service Bulletin Number 282827 in response to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) Action Number 10033557. Here is the Summary: "Lexus supplemental restraint systems. Some model vehicles may exhibit an srs light on condition with dtc b1861 and/or b1866. After confirming the vehicle condition matches the bulletin, it will direct you to replace the instrument panel." It appears that my LS460 matches that bulletin. Note that this is a Service Bulletin and NOT a recall, notwithstanding the fact that it pertains to a safety system, namely, SRS - the supplemental restraint system (airbags). My Service Adviser told me that because Lexus has not received enough complaints this matter has not been escalated to the level of a recall. He did not tell me how many complaints were received. The airbag warranty is for 7 years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. Because my car is out of warranty (time, not mileage), my Service Adviser requested a courtesy repair from Lexus for the following reasons: (1) I purchased 2 brand new vehicles from this dealer (LS460 and RX350); (2) both vehicles have been serviced by the book; and (3) my LS460 has under 36K miles. I would like to know if any other LS460 owners have experienced a similar intermittent airbag warning light and, if so, how that was resolved. Thanks in advance for your replies. Stuart
