  1. I think you forgot something....... price?
  2. Sorry, I meant the red lights on the bumper and replace them with the clear lights from the first post.
  3. Ever since I came across this topic I really don't like the red tail lights on my rx330. Does anyone know how hard it would be to change them out? Do you think you access the lights from under the car or from the inside or some other way? Just wondering, thanks for any response.
  4. I randomly have the same problem. Usually if I push eject right before I turn off the car, then take out the key and put it back in, the CD will come out and it will work fine for a while. That's probably not good if the message won't go away at all. Hopefully someone around here knows what to do.
  5. I saw one LS600h in a parking lot and attempted to chat with the owners but I was treated like a commoner without my grey poupon so I gained little knowledge of ownership. Tom Likely, the owner just bought it because it was more expensive than a regular LS so he could tell his country club friends that he bought the best (for some people, most expensive must mean the best) but really he has no idea of the hybrid Tao and wouldn't be able to tell you the first thing about hypermiling, or the pulse and glide method. Mind you, he probably didn't buy it to save money on gas - see previous sentence. Anyway, my point is he probably wouldn't be able to tell you anything about ownership of a hyrid, except he paid X dollars and the car gets him from A to B. of course some people don't like talking to total strangers.... <_<
  6. Although this does look like spam, I really like how it looks. Too bad the auction looks like it is only for 1 light and the seller's feedback is 0.
  7. LOL. The rain sensing wipers are one of my favorite features of my RX!
  8. I cringe every time I see an SC. It just looks too crappy for a lexus imo. I don't understand why I see so many of them around (at least in my area). If they come out with a new SC, it better look real good, although I don't see the need.
  9. Is this post even serious? I have never, ever heard anyone call those "power ports" anything besides cigarette lighters. Man, some people on this site are so picky and argumentative.
  10. Man, who pays 35 grand for a prius? I've been in a few (and driven a couple) and no way do they feel like they're worth even close to that. And yes I realize you save money on gas and help the environment by getting one.... couldn't agree more.
  11. wow $44,000, that is a ton! Isn't a Prius just a little over $20,000? Maybe that HS is loaded. 2 Prius = 1 HS I can't imagine the HS is going to sell all that well.
  12. Thanks for the info. I was planning on getting a wheelskin cover a while back, but I ordered some samples and none of them seemed to match up with my interior. I may just have to go with black and see. Do you have any pics of your wheel now?
  13. yeah, so we are both right.... No, I haven't driven a 2010 prius, I'm just stating the opinions that most people I talk to have. I'm still kind of undecided about the 2010. No way would I trade my RX in for one. I didn't have enough money to get a camry hybrid anyway. I still loved the 07 LE I got even though I ended up selling it. Most of my driving is highway anyway, so I'd probably get like 2-3 more mpg. I'm not willing to drive like a grandpa to save a few bucks on gas. Time is money, and I'm always running late. take the crap? what does that even mean? Umm yeah I do just laugh it off. I don't know about you, but usually with friends you are always poking fun at each other, and it is that: "fun". It's not something I'm crying about. I take it and I dish it out. just making a joke. My wife did say that but she was half-joking too. LOL, Don't take everything so seriously. I'm not.....
  14. Yeah SW I pretty much agree with everything you said. My comment about the look hurting the brand is purely based on the fact that 2 years ago I wanted a prius because of my long commute, but because of the look I didn't get one. You know how crazy I am about the look of things (cduluk's wood trim topic :P ). I actually was about to have the guy order one for me at my local dealer, but my wife pretty much said if I got a prius she wouldn't be seen with me in it. You have a point how they can't keep them in stock, although I wonder if they want keep the supply a little low to keep the demand up. The camry hybrid is a joke and hardly gets any better gas mileage than a regular camry (regardless of what toyota says). There was no way I going to spend an extra 5 grand just to get a hybrid emblem on my car. Yes, people are totally idiots and make fun of anything and everything to make themselves feel better. I'm taking crap over driving an RX now and I'm always like "I bet you spent more on that piece of crap chevy than I did on my lexus." Lastly, an ES hybrid would be cool, but yeah it would be way too expensive. They should have just made the HS look more like an ES.
  15. Congrats on your new Lexus! I bought mine for the same reason as you. I have a long commute (over 100 miles 5x a week) and I wanted something comfortable. Everyone said get a volvo, but every Lexus I sat in was soooo much more comfortable than anything else. Two months later and my back problems have gone away for the most part and my commute is much more enjoyable.
  16. The look of the prius fits, yet it hurts the brand. I think the majority of americans look at a prius and think "hippy" or "freak". A lot of people think the car you drive says a lot about the type of person you are. I'm not saying I totally agree with that, but sort of...... my marketing teacher believed it. I think if they made the prius look more "regular" it would appeal to more people. There are plenty of people who want the prius gas mileage without having to get laughed at when other drivers pass them. And I'm sure most people on this forum (or prius owners) don't think this is true, but I know plenty of people who HATE the look of the prius and every time they see one they make sure to joke about it. And like I said earlier in this thread, it looks like a little minivan, and that is not a good thing. I'm surprised to hear people on this board say the prius looks better. I did almost buy a prius a few years ago though..... <_<
  17. That does look so much better! It's hard to believe that your car could get any cooler, but that did it. I had an '07 camry before I bought my rx330 and I noticed right away that the radio controls on the RX looked really boring and dated compared to the camry. Your new wheel blows the camry's away. Nice job! Can I clutter another one of your topics with questions? ;) How do you take the steering wheel/airbag off? I asked a friend of mine today and there is no way what he said was right. And it's nice to know of a 20 year old who can have fun without being drunk or high all the time. I'm 29 and the only reason I can afford a Lexus right now is because I don't spend all my money on booze like all of my friends do.
  18. That's awesome. I love your workshop, especially the gloves all over the place. I actually got the same airbrush as you from michaels. That makes me feel a lot better about spending the money. I also bought a drill attachment for the CCS buffer pads and I'm going to attempt to polish the trim with the drill. I guess I'll have to be pretty careful with it, but it will save me a lot of money. The clear I got was the Dupont Nason 496-00 and the 483-78 activator, like you recommended. I guess it was actually $32. This guy on ebay has sold quite a few kits with both and has perfect feedback. In case anyone reading this wants to get some here's a link to his ebay store: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Wholesale-Auto...s__W0QQ_armrsZ1 I used a ton of acetone just painting the shifter pieces and it REALLY came in handy! (I think I'd do a much better job now). Luckily the smallest size I found was a gallon so I still have pretty much left. So now my question is where are the screws you need to get at to take out the center console and rear cup holder? Also how did you keep the silver tab on the cupholder? I don't care much if I have to paint over it I just was surprised to see it still there in your pics. can't wait to see your next project....
  19. Makes sense. Yeah, I was thinking of ditching the tinting paint since I put so much of it on that it didn't really "tint" at all. After I was done I was thinking that it looked like I just used regular black spray paint anyway. I found some Duplicolor self-etching primer and I just bought a quart of clear and a 1/2 pint of activator for $34 (w/ ship) off ebay. I also found a nice airbrush from michael's (thanks!) for pretty cheap with coupon. Now I just need to rent a compressor and get a machine polisher. This is getting expensive.... I was thinking of getting a porter cable 7424XP. I figure if I didn't want it after polishing the trim I could just put it on ebay. What kind of pads would I need to use with the 3M scratch remover? There's what: cutting, light cutting, very light cutting, finishing, light finishing, polishing........ kind of confusing even after a few hours of reading on autogeek.net. I'm really dreading painting the cup holder since I'll kind of have to prop it open to expose the ends.
  20. It's not important at all. You would probably never use the valet or flat key and a dealer can look up the number from your key number plate if you need it. Congratulations on your new Lexus!
  21. I may try this on the rest of the trim. So the etching primer works over the factory clear? I guess you still have to wetsand first? The hard clear (with activator) has to be heated to fully cure right, so should I just use a hair dryer since I wasn't going to take the pieces off of the door panels? I know I ask so many questions....sorry :P
  22. I bet what SW03ES said may work. In my RX330 you just hold down the odometer/trip button with the car off and turn the key to acc, but not all the way on. Leave the button pressed until the maintenance required warning goes away and it is reset. Thats pretty similar. Good luck.
  23. I don't think talking while driving is anywhere near as dangerous. You don't ever have to take your eyes off the road to talk. I know people can text with their eyes closed, but at some point you have to look down either to start up the text or look at what you are sending. With voice dialing you can keep your eyes where they belong the entire time. I guess some people really get into their conversations, but that happens when you have passengers in the car too.
  24. A couple of years ago my wife was pulled over on the right side of the road (with other drivers) because an ambulance was coming up from behind. Some 16 years old kid in an SUV was texting and didn't notice all the stopped traffic in front of him (or the sirens) so instead of ramming into a line of about 20 cars in front of him he swerved across two lanes and hit my wife's car (on the driver's side door) over on the shoulder. Luckily no one was hurt, but both cars were totaled. I could've killed that kid...... I think that video could make a few people think before texting or at least pay a little more attention to the road. It was annoying as hell when that girl was screaming.
