  1. Well today my Father became stranded about 30 miles away because he could not get the transmission to shift on of 1st. At first I thought the tranny was done for, I then proceded to log on to the forum and found that this is a problem and because the computer thinks the tranny is in reverse it doesn't allow it to shift out of first. My problem is uncommon to the rest because the reverse light was stuck on and was not affected by brake pedal being applied. Luckily I was able to troubleshoot with my dad on the phone, and it turned out that one of the doors was ajar, he didn't think anything of it even though the door ajar light was illuminated. Once he closed the door the reverse light went off and all was well. I cannot reproduce this since he came home. Any ideas? Oh and also it was very rainy here today, and it hasn't rained in months.
  2. Is this true that all other shocks are going to cause a more harsh ride? I love my ride but would at some point like to refresh it. I have been looking at the tokiko's and know they are a high end shock, but are they too stiff?
  3. I called around and talked to a few service managers today. They said almost all 2002's have had their amplifiers replaced. Looked in my logs to find this would had not. Had my dealer order me one under warrenty, so hopefully this will fix my problem. Word to the wise, if your 2002 SC hasn't gotten its amplifier changed out, I suggest you have it done before the warrenty runs out.
  4. On my step-mom's 2002 SC430, the volume periodically fades in and out only while listening to the radio, it has never done this on CD. So we took it since it is still under warrenty to have checked out. We were able to replicate the issue with a service rep sitting right there. They had the car over the weekend, and then called us and told us they went through every component but could not find anything wrong. They say, until something actually fails they cannot fix it. I think this sucks considering I have to deal with a problem that should be non-existent just because their warrenty doesn't allow parts to be replaced unless they have "failed." Anyone have any suggestions?
  5. Ah, that makes sense to me now... Don't know how that happened?
  6. Thanks for that bit of information... I wasn't aware posting on a different topic was a problem? Please do tell..
  7. I was wondering if anyone knew of the interchangeability between say the premium pioneer system and the nackamachi system(Sorry if I butchered). I was also wondering if any of the nav systems of the later LS's are swappable in. I'm sure anything can be done but what is directly interchangeable? Also on the EATC (Climate Control) what is the interchaneability there?
  8. Thanks, the one thing I do like about my name is that it is somewhat unique :P I can already tell this is a great community based upon the valueable information I have already received and the friendly, eager to help atmosphere.
  9. I just recently acquired a 1992 LS400 with 164k miles. It has a very slow power steering leak and I want to replace the pump before it gets any worse. Currently it is so slight that it doesn't even hit the ground, basicly the previous owner said he had to slightly top it off every 2 1/2 months. I was just wondering if someone could post a procedure on the pump replacement or link me to where I need to be. Much appreciated!
