  1. You can provide details of your engine number plate to lexus dealer and they will tell the code u but according to my understanding the color code of lexus has nothing to do with dyes. I think it would be wiser to ask leather dyes dealer or supplier to provide a matching dye.
  2. I had experience similar to your situation and got it fixed. Noise was coming from Sunroof side track. It made tick tick tick tick...and it was worse when I passed rough ground or road. I also realized that noise was coming from front passenger seat from black plastic emergency box so I pulled out tighten with sponge tapes around the edge of plastic box...now noise is gone for ever. Please give it a try. Good luck. Black plstic box is underneath front passenger side seat.

  4. Dear SKYVIEW, I can think of few possible place that make such noise. 1) Driver side air conditioner vent (near to side mirror) has a flap for closing/opening of air. The flap holds sponge like material which blocks the aircon air when flap is closed but this sponge like material hardens as it ages, as a result of hardening it crack into small flake and blown out during aircon use. Often this is where wind noise comes from. Use a torch or park your car under bright daylight and take a look and try to turn the flap open & close. 2) There is a spare part called steering shaft inner cover. This covers your steering shaft and block outside noises from engine. Interestingly, this cover is placed right at the driver side thus allowing the noise to penetrate in. Check and see if it is broken. Not expensive. I hope you get rid of the noise.
  5. I had similar problem but it is all fixed. Throttle position sensor was causing this problem. :)
  6. <_< I have similar problem with my '97 LS400. It is slightly better when A/C is switch to high or max cold but as the fan speed automatically slows down due to room temperature sensor then this unpleasant "Sweat" like smell blows out from front air vent ans somehow my both side of rear passenger vent blows out really strong smell so I usually turn off the rear A/C, furthermore, both rear passenger vent blows kind of rather warm air when front A/C is set on Max cold. I have tried various types of odor eliminating sprays including ozone but did not help at all. Anyway, I will have Lexus service center to check and find the root of the problem and fix it for good perhaps I can share the solution after a week or two....and get rid of the smell all friends out there.
