  1. Lip is from wear. Get cheap calipers from Harbor Freight to measure them, but its probably time. Depends on driving style and many other factors, but 60k might be normal for you/your car. I tend to get 100k+ on my street car, but only 60k or so on the SUV. Chinese ebay rotors work just fine and are dirt cheap. May as well just replace them with the pads.
  2. Sounds like a problem to me, but probably with no easy fix. If you are lucky, something like blocked PCV system causing some internal pressure might do it. My 250k LS still doesn't burn oil.
  3. If it makes you feel good, great, but the intake is engineered for the needs of the engine. There is no street benefit whatsoever that will make any difference in real world use. If you put headers on too, bump up the timing, have a nearly open exhaust, up the fuel pressure to compensate, then maybe, but probably not. I run more or less stock intake on my race car (except I pull air through the corner light, but otherwise stock).
  4. Right in spirit, but #4 isn't the whole answer. On the street its true, but the brake rotors act as a thermal sink, and if you work them hard enough, they run out of thermal mass and you need bigger ones..... I race my current LS400, and have upgraded the brakes several times to meet my braking needs.
  5. best bet is to ask the dealer.... I wonder the same.. I'll see if anybody at work knows (I work for Toyota's mfg HQ)
  6. Hi all, I need some shock mounts (aka strut tops) at a minimum for my 91LS400, but up to complete struts (don't really need springs, but whatever - need the top mounts tho). I also have many interior items, including HVAC, the entire airbag system etc. for sale or trade (HVAC, Airbag and sensors, window regulators, interior handles, Nachimichi stereo etc). If you have shock mounts at least, let me know asap, and how much you want for all 4. Must be steel suspension.
  7. still have struts or at least strut tops for steel suspension? (I wasn't gonna read all those posts!).. if so, email me at dspinnett at insightbb dot com
  8. If you still need one, I have one, (actually whole airbag systems and sensors too) from a 91. Should be same. email me at dspinnett @ insightbb. com
  9. Hi, I need front and rear shock tops (or even the whole shock/spring asm) for standard steel suspension.. need soon if you have it. email me at dspinnett @ insightbb &&dot&& com
  10. Hmm.. not sure.. I have a 91' also. do you have steel suspension (not air) shocks for cheap? I could use all 4 to replace my air shocks.
