  3. Replacing two HID bulbs ? Hope the car is under warranty....I got two replaced few months ago just before my warranty expired. Cost me nothing but the Bill was $ 800 for two bulbs......
  4. Very True Steve, No one works for free. The dealers have to pay their rent too.
  5. I bought a used 2007 ES350 that came with the paint protection film. It's not very noticible unless you stand very close to the car. It has saved me a lot of chips especially driving on the *BLEEP*ty Detroit roads...Too bad I still got couple of small chips just where the film ends :).
  6. What's the difference between the oil 5w30 and 5w20. My invoice from Dealership always say 5w20 but the one oil that I thinking to buy from Canadian Tire is Mobil 1 syntetic 5w30. Sorry for me sounding too ignorant but just trying to do the oil change myself next time. Also what online site would you recommend to buy the Oil filter too. I drive 2007 ES 350. I live very close to Canada/US border so shipping something in US is not an issue.
  7. Points well made and well taken. As I mentioned I have been going to my local dealership until now and I might go back again. I am not totally ruling them out but there are some jobs where you can save money. My dealership gave me an estimate for changing my rear brake pads. The cost was $ 350. I got the same pads for $ 50 online, went to the local mechanic who charged me $ 75 to install them. Also another time, the rear bulb was out on my car. I bought the bulb for $ 4 ( surprisingly ) from Dealership and installed it myself. I don't think the dealership would have charged me just $ 4 if I had asked them to put it in. Having said that, I totally agree with you where you are coming from but not all dealerships are same.
  8. The service is definitely better at the dealership, no doubt about that but you pay a lot more. When I asked them to check if there is a fuse that is gone or not, they were not very honest. They could have simply checked the switch to see its off but they told me to book an appointment to take a look at the problem. They would have charged me $ 80 for diagnosis and then simply told me that something was loose for a job they did in less than a minute. I would still be out $ 80. That's why I am here, you guys saved me $ 80 :) . I found one mechanic close to my house. He seems like a very honest guy. I might get my tires rotated from him too. Thanks again
  9. I have 2007 ES 350 and thinking about upgrading the Navigation DVD, Does that mean I can't buy the new DVD anymore if its on HD now. If its' still possible to buy the updated Navigation DVD, should i wait few more months to get the 2012 update. TIA
  10. THANK YOU GUYS !!! THAT WAS IT !!!! PHEW !! Goodness Gracious.....I am lucky I didn't take it to my local Lexus dealership. They are a big ripoff. Last time I was there for oil change, I mentioned this problem to them, they said next time I come for oil change they would look at the problem but the guy already warned me that it does cost a bit to replace those sensors. I am glad I found this forum before :) Everytime I go there for a simple oil change, it coast me almost $ 150, Last time the guy said I needed some rotating tires *BLEEP* and all other crap....I bought his BS and it cost me almost $ 300. Hopefully I would learn something on this discussion group to do things on my own. Found the one tutorial by this Russian guy to change the oil. I might just try it myself. 2007 ES350 OBSIDIAN ( bought from US and driven in Canada eh !! )
