i think most of the lexus vehicles are behind the glove box. i remember that from my RX300 and i think it's the same thing for my GX now.
-
i did read about that in the lemon law book but i decided that it might be too hard, and stressful if i tried it. so i decided to keep mine. for me, i was thinking they'd probably fight it and it'll all be just one big mess. anyway, one little thump really doesn't hurt, does it? ;) B)

i just came back from my east coast trip, flew to NYC, and drove around the East coast and drove back home cross country to California. I REALLY noticed the price differences in gas. so far, the lowest i saw was $1.92 in Missouri. when i got back to fresno, damn, was $2.35 . (these are based on UNLEADED only!!!)

Gx470 "2005" What Problems To Watch Out For?
denslexusgx470 replied to 4abal's topic in 03 - 09 Lexus GX470
wow, sorry for not getting back to your question right away. NO i didn't see these problems before buyin it. Problem was, everyone on these forums were talking about "Oh I'm getting mine before xmas, but no DVD but this color combo." " Oh i'm gettin mine on the 27 but this color combo...." and blah blah blah. so no one ever talked about problems of this car. the only person who talked about something bad about the GX was this one guy who ordered his car from Florida, lives in California ( i think) and while the Gx was being transported on a truck, someone vandalized his GX and broke the whole rear window! so no one ever had a point of comparison for the problems of the Gx. everyone of my time were guinea pigs, not knowing what to expect. but i did get $1k Lexus credit for any services or accesories because of the 3 recalls they had. -
but i personally think they just put some "icing" on top of the chevy interiors to put on the expensive cadillacs. I think they should have designed it slightly different. The Toyota Prado and the GX are really similar in designs, but you could tell the small changes that looks rough on the Prado, but expensive looking on the GX. it may be hard to tell, but it's there. now i really don't know much about cadillacs, but could you be paying $60k for better insulation of the cabin??

← i see that someone else isn't happy with my dealer. I've had to deal with them for the last 5 years. I haven't tried Bakersfield, maybe they'll do a better job. oh and for Fresno Lexus, if you want ANYTHING that's mechanical to be fixed, be very sure if you want to have them fix it. They always end up breaking something else at this dealer. For my GX, i just ignore the clunk cuz they've already practiced on my GX for that problem, and end up telling me that it's "normal". and when u meaning dimming mirrors, did you mean the rear view mirror, or does the new GX have dimming side mirrors also?? but hey, wait till the new dealer is built and they move, maybe they'll be better. but i doubt it. and they're loaner policy, is DISCRIMINATING. If you ever have your car serviced at Fresno Lexus, make sure it won't take long that you need a loaner, or make sure that you bought the car from them because they don't let people use their loaners if you bought your Lexus from another dealer. :chairshot:

i did remember somebody trading in their CTS for a GX. I don't know a lot about the SRX and the CTS, but don't some of the parts in those cars look very similar to the Chevy cars?? I know that's for sure with the Escalade and kinda the H2s and H3s.
-
you would probably get a good price on the SRX (with the employee discount) but the quality, fit and finish, and reliability of the SRX will not come close to the GX. even though my GX was a (i would say) "test run" with some problems, i just think "the other companies have more SEVERE problems than this". and yeah, if you plan to have people sitting in the 3rd row, make sure they are less than 3 feet tall (or shorter). little kids would be fine back there but i dunno about taller guys. ;)
-
highlander but, i do have a hunch that the redesign is just around the corner (this 1st gen's been out for awhile now) if it's possible, i'd wait. if not, consider the Pilot ;)

they bought it back because of the thump? or did u claim it as lemon? (i'm not sure how the lemon thingy works)

Rx400, Would You Do It Again?
denslexusgx470 replied to lexusrxes's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
i don't know about this, but if all RX400h are built in Canada and let's say I've got a Japan built RX330, I'd keep the RX330 for now until the bugs of the Canadian RX400h have been cleared out. that's my two cents. ;) -
the turning radius of the first gen RX300 (1999-2003) is about 41 (however they measure it). turning radius of the RX330 is about 34-36. sorry i don't know what kind of measurements they are, but i'm sure about the figures. :P

I highly recommend Pioneer also. ;)
-
that one rear picture on the second link looks like an ES!! lol
-
lol. I've always had that same question to myself. I always call it the moonroof (since that's what they put in the brochure and manual) :D
-
the height control automatically adjusts itself from time to time. when i said earlier "adjust the height manually", I meant if u wanted to recreate the problem, that's how you should do it. Otherwise, it occurs when the car itself adjusts it. ;)

i'm only using 87. $2.19 for fresno,ca

in my opinion, go for the Volvo! ;)

Is there a new technical service bulletin we can reference for this new fix? I have my car scheduled to go in for the "thump" in a couple weeks. Thanks! ← This is the correct fix, call Johnson Lexus (Raleigh, NC 919 877 1800) if your maint. rep doesnt know about the polishing procedure. My '03 had every symptom noted here, and drives perfect after the splines were refinished-about a 5 hour service. ← thanks for the info. I'll give that a try! :whistles: ;)

this sounds like the sulfur problem
-
well my point was that it isn't that great to "name" the different races . sometimes they can be proven wrong. besides, if u call someone "Mexican" maybe only those type of people will accept the idea of them being called that, but others don't. jus being conservative. ;)

try using the "SEARCH" feature on the bottom of the page next time. ;) http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...00&hl=bluetooth http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...47&hl=bluetooth

:( not quite. it's when ur at a stoplight and the self leveling rear suspension adjusts itself (for whatever reason) and when at certain heights, it will cause the "thump" . actually u can create the thump urself. first drive and stop at the light. then adjust ur suspension to "high" and while it's goin up, u should feel the "thump" at certain times. same thing, if ur backing up from somewhere and u adjust the suspension to either high or low, it would cause the thump. so my conclusion is that the "thump" is from the rear suspension that constantly changes height positions at times. <_<
