  1. well i could imagine the LS600HL........ :o ;)
  2. I've been working on this problem since 2004. Unfortunately the answer is no, if you want to go with Lexus parts. The mounting points for the tonneau cover are integral to the interior panels, AND ARE NOT FOUND ON THE INTERIOR PANELS OF VEHICLES WITH OPTIONAL 3RD ROW SEATS. Because Lexus opted to push the vestigial 3rd row seats as a forced upgraqe to add to their corporate profit, not many US vehicles had the tonneau cover interior, so wrecking yard parts are almost nonexistant. Unless a US dealer, like Sewell Lexus in Dallas, who sells the DVD upgrade at a reasonable price, elects to obtain and market these panels and covers, we are forced to cover cargo in the upscale Lexus with an old blankets :chairshot: while owners of many other SUVs have tonneau covers. unfortunately, you would have to replace the whole interior in the back if you wish to have a tonneau cover. My GX doesn't have a third seat, and when i showed my friend my GX when it was brand new, he said that if one day he bought it from me, is it possible to buy the third seat and just mount it in? I said "no" because the mounting locks on the side aren't installed in my GX because I have the tonneau cover.
  3. i went inside one of those GL450s, and the third seat is DEFINITELY acceptable. :o it actually has enough room for a guy like me, 5'11" , to not complain if i had to sit in the third row on a trip. lol. pretty roomy. only thing is , the vehicle looks sooo bulky, and from a distance, is kinda hard to distinguish from a ML.
  4. the prius is a lot quieter though. like, i had a friend who just got a new hybrid highlander, and when she turns it on, you can still hear the engine (not as loud as our engines). but when i tried a prius, you couldn't hear a single thing when it turns on. so i was a little disappointed on the quietness of the hybrid highlander and rx400h. i heard the LS600HL will be so quiet, like your ears would have to adjust to the super quietness of it. lol. I read it in some edmunds article. ;)
  5. excuses , excuses.lol how long does it take for them to post lease residuals? so im guessing ur lease isnt from Toyota/Lexus Finance? can you check lease residuals on the internet or is that for dealer use only? i always thought the dealer or the bank decides on the residual value and adjusts it accordingly to make it more affordable
  6. ?????? wow. how did that happen? up to now, it's still 0 views!! :o even my thread asking about special ordering a different color, has 0 views. strange
  7. hmm strange, if u didn't give me that link, i didn't know where to find it. lol :whistles: wow. i can't believe rims for this car is sooo expensive. i'd thought they'd run around $50-$70 :(
  8. i kinda knew you couldn't but i thought i heard something that you could. thanx for confirming that
  9. I remember once that we talked about this, but I would like to re-confirm. Is it possible to order a DISCONTINUED color? Take the GX, the Sand Dollar Pearl was discontinued but they still use the color in the current LX470. Was wondering if I ever decide to get a new GX for this generation, if they would allow me to special order the Sand Dollar Pearl color for the GX. thanx. Still in the process of deciding on a new car or not.
  10. thanx but they don't have any stock alloy wheels for a 97. i'll just have to look at the honda forums. thanx ;)
  11. thats what i figured too. thanx for backing me up on that decision. my dads thinkin of getting the alloy wheels that came with the EX version. only thing i hope we can still find good ones. i highly doubt that honda still has new rims for a 97 odyssey. <_<
  12. hey guys update the rest of us here and mention ANY time the clunk comes up with this new tsb. if it completely solves the problem then i will have mine done also. i hope i hear good updates ASAP cuz my warranty's running out(44k miles) and am in the middle of a decision whether to mortgage this Gx after the lease is up or get a new one. ;)
  13. they actually all went flat. none of them popped. i wud have thought it was a bad steel due 2 age and use but what a coincidence that they all happened on the front right?? <_<
  14. strange. I thought it might be default if they don't unlock when parking the vehicle. That's how my GX is. Although my GX has some procedures that you can go thru so it'll unlock. I'm not sure if it'll work for the LX, but I'll see if I can find it. ;)
  15. my dads 97 odyssey has 138k miles on it. its got stock rims(actually caps cuz its only an lx version) but since of the high mileage, do the rims deteriorate in a way that they blow out the tires? we had an issue before that in this set of 4 tires, only one particular tire(same rim) blew out 2 tires. both didnt hav nails or punctures in them. today a different tire( dif rim) blew out but same location (right front). suggestions? I highly doubt it's a coincidence <_<
  16. hey thanks for everyones input on this project. It turned out to be great. Had kinkos do it, in 5 minutes, BAM! A magazine! only costed $23. My group consists of 5 people, so like $5 a person (extra change for those who worked more). ;)
  17. Sorry to hear about that. My mom almost lost her job. The hospital was firing a WHOLE lot of people from the staff. The basis for it was if the person has been in the company for a long time and has the highest pay possible in the position. Luckily she didn't get chosen to be fired because she's only been in the company for about 10 or 11 years.. Thank God. The lady that was at this hospital for 25 years, was superior over her, got fired. It's always a wonder why they would do such a thing to good, hard working people.
  18. That's not a bad size for a 2/1 home. I'll admit, the old house we moved out of was a 1,075 sq. ft with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Great room only, no family room. SO i guess the rooms in this cozy home is probably quite bigger than the rooms in our old home. Talk about the kitchen we had, a whole new story. Soooo small. :P
  19. if u were talkin bout me, yup thats true :) i kinda like the soaking of the paper but only problem is that he wants it done as if ur doin a re-collection of the 40s and ur in the 50s. so that means it has to look new but black n white. its a group project so my topic is the 2 atomic bombs
  20. 03s and 04s don't require premium. when the engine got upgraded to VVti then Premium was required (05s and newer).
  21. I've got a history project, and the project is to make a magazine, pretending it's that decade in time (I got the 40s) . Now i've got all the info almost together, but my next question is, how do I exactly make a magazine, or similar to a magazine??? Is it a big piece of paper, fold it in half, then staple it all in the middle???? how does it work? i haven't gone into Kinkos yet, so I wanna know if i can do it at home, or if Kinkos does it. thanx in advance. :(
  22. i've seen that picture a long time ago. i think SW was right, must be for the Harrier. Back then, some idiot on the internet posted that image as the " Next Generation NEwly REdesigned Rx"
  23. bad part is that, the recall concerns the new GS and IS vehicles. well this isn't such a bad recall. when the Gx came out, it had 3 recalls within the 3rd month it came out.
  24. goodluck. dealers are really hard and strict when it comes to buybacks. it's possible but if there's no good reason, then it's hard to do a buyback. there was a situation at my dealer once, the GX was bought back. it came out dec 02 and the buyback took place jan03. the reason was that (i suppose it's true) that the wife of the GX owner got paralyzed and had a hard time getting up in the car. so the dealer did a buy back, but was only giving a $700 discount on it, even though it had like 600 miles on it already. do you believe I have a good reason? hate to say it, but no it's not a reason that they will accept. although you could try (depends on the dealership) but don't be surprised to drive home disappointed. i forgot to mention, the GX owner in my story had an edge over everyone. not only was the paralyze story true but i think the owner had some connections with the owner of the dealership, or was some close friend. so they easily had the buyback. otherwise, it's seems sooooo impossible. if i were you i'd just keep the car, try to get it fix (you may be a lucky one and it might go away) or just use it for awhile untill your lease is up, or untill you can get rid of it at a price that isn't lower than your residual value. idk. give it try if you wish. no harm trying. ;)
